Heard of the term "cameltoe"? Cameltoe is a slang term that usually refers to the outline of labia majora when a woman wears tight bottoms.
Though normally hidden and fully clothed, the size of the vulva or the external genitalia of a woman can greatly affect her self confidence. For instance, some patients complain not being able to wear fitting jeans or skirts because they look so full at their lower front that they look like men. On most cases, the condition is caused by child birth, aging, and accident, yet on some, it may be a birth defect such as vaginal atresia (absent vaginal passage) and other congenital defects.
Though labiaplasty in Thailand can be considered both a reconstructive and cosmetic surgery, medical professionals are still debating on the merits of the procedure.
Basically, labiaplasty is a minor surgery that involves the reduction of the labia major (outer vaginal lips) and/or the labia minor (inner vaginal lips). The procedure mainly aims to improve the appearance of the external female genitalia by reduction of the excess skin or fat, or by correcting birth defects such as asymmetry.
HOW IS LABIAPLASTY in Thailand PERFORMED?
Labiaplasty or Labia Reduction in Thailand is most commonly performed on an outpatient setting under local anesthesia though patients can request for general anesthesia depending on their preference and pain tolerance. The procedure will take just about an hour.
At Yoskarn Clinic, our surgeon offers both the traditional resection and the laser resection of the tissue or excess skin. The technique that Prof. Somyos Kunachak will use will depend upon the condition of the genitals which can be finalized after personal consultation.
Labiaplasty is often times done in combination with Clitoral Unhooding and/or Vaginoplasty.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER LABIAPLASTY in Thailand?
A slight discomfort is to be expected after the procedure which can usually be managed by oral pain relievers. Swelling and bruising may be present for the first week after the surgery, along with tenderness on the area. Some women prefer wearing sanitary pads for comfort though others prefer just cotton underwear as there is usually no dressing needed after the procedure.
Since dissolvable sutures are used, there will be no need for suture removal but follow up check up is recommended at least so our surgeon can monitor how well the site is healing.
You can pat the area with unscented wipes for hygiene after using the restroom. It is highly advisable to keep the area dry as much as possible to promote faster healing. Keep in mind to just pat the area, no wiping as friction may delay healing of the incision site. You may use hair blower with room air temperature to dry out the moisture after voiding.
Should rashes or severe itching occur, please contact our center immediately before doing any self medication.
It is highly recommended that you avoid walking for long periods for at least 3-5 days to avoid friction on the incision sites.
Sexual activity can be resumed in 6 weeks as with other activities such as swimming, running, and dancing. It is however recommended that you take slow steps in returning to your normal routine and make sure not to push yourself too far.
WHY CHOOSE YOSKARN CLINIC?
In our center, we value the privacy of our patients so much. With this, we affiliated with a hotel just next to our center and made a private entrance via an adjoining door from the hotel straight to our center. This enables our patients to enjoy more privacy as they don’t have to walk around outside just to get to our clinic. Our doctors and nurses can also visit the patients right in their own rooms if requested.
Aside from this, Aphrodite Inn’s very own staffs are very hospitable and professional.
For our center’s side, we believe in working with the patient that’s why we always try to offer all the possible options for each type of surgery so the patients can choose which way they want to go with their procedures. Other centers may only offer one surgical technique and claim it’s the best but we offer all available techniques so patients can weigh their choices as guided by our surgeons.
