S-lift

Face Surgery » S-lift

Your face provides the world with a lasting impression of who you are, how you feel, and even what you do, but you should never let your face tell your real age. Researches suggest that younger looking individuals with relevant experience have greater edge over older ones of the same experience, hence, maintaining a youthful appearance is always very important. With this, we modified the facelift technique in Thailand for patients who want to look fresher without the "wind-tunnel" appearance caused by a more invasive facelift procedure.

S-Lift is a mini-facelift technique in Thailand that provides lift on the neck and the lower third area of the face. Unlike the conventional facelift in Thailand, S-Lift is a quicker option with significantly lesser complications and much faster recovery.

WHO ARE THE BEST CANDIDATES FOR S-LIFT in Thailand?

S-Lift surgery in Thailand is particularly well suited for middle-aged and younger patients who are just starting to show early signs of aging. This procedure yields a lot of improvement in the way you look by tightening sagging muscles and skin of the cheeks, jowls, chin and neck.

Candidates for this procedure are men and women in good health with ages between 30 to 60 years old. Best candidates are those patients with skin laxity classified just under mild to moderate for the lower face and neck.

Clients should also set realistic goals and expectations which can be discussed during the consultation.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE S-LIFT SURGERY in Thailand?

S-Lift surgery in Thailand is performed using a special anesthetic solution, which is injected in the area in front of the ears. This fluid gently lifts the skin from the underlying tissue, allowing our surgeon to perform the lifting with much ease and less tissue damage.

Prof. Somyos Kunachak will excises a narrow "S" shaped section of skin from the area immediately in front of the ears. The skin will be lifted and our surgeon will tighten and reposition the underlying muscles and tissues. Excess fat can also be removed by liposuction during this surgery (it will however be discussded with you during your consultation). Like temporal lift, your surgeon will do the surgery one side at a time and it will normally takes just about 2 hours.

WHAT IS S-LIFT's DIFFERENCE FROM TRADITIONAL FACELIFT SURGERY in Thailand?

S-Lift surgery in Thailand usually yields a more natural look as compared to the result of a traditional facelift except for client who really need the latter. Recovery time is also a lot shorter with lesser possible complications.

Since scarring is always a major concern, this procedure allows the surgeon to give a maximum lifting effect for the neck and the lower face with minimum scarring, and unlike traditional facelift in Thailand, hair loss is not a documented unpleasant risk associated to this technique.

Though the result may not necessarily reverse all signs of aging, the procedure can somehow halt the aging process. Generally, younger patients enjoy longer lasting result as their health in general is better though bone structure, genes, lifestyle, and a lot of other factors can affect the result.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER S-LIFT SURGERY in Thailand?

Changes following your S-Lift surgery in Thailand can be dramatic or subtle depending on what you have discussed with our surgeon. Note however that you may not be able to appreciate the result much on the first few weeks because of the bruises and swelling. Usually, bruising subsides in about a week or two, while swelling will be significantly reduced (though not completely gone) during that period as well. Residual swelling should be expected for at least 2-6months after your S-Lift surgery in Thailand.

After your surgery, you may go back to your hotel or stay in our facility, depending on the arrangement that we’ve made for you prior to the procedure. We however encourage patients who will be undergoing surgery in our center to stay in our affiliate hotel, Aphrodite Inn, for convenience, easier access, and privacy.

A small bandage will used to cover the incision site for the next few days after your surgery and it will be removed upon our surgeon’s discretion (usually about 7 days). Once the bandages are removed, you may take a shower in a few more days and wash your hair while men may shave their face. Please keep in mind however that dying the hair is highly discouraged for at least 8 weeks after the surgery.

Normal activities may be resumed in 4 to 5 days but strenuous activities should wait for at least 6-8 weeks. Sun exposure on the incision site should be avoided during the first 6 weeks after the surgery to avoid darkening or the suture site.
